A great thing happened this week (besides joining the 30 Day Blog Challenge that is.) At the encouragement of my friend Deb Eldredge (who writes for them in the Utica, NY area) I applied to become a writer for The Examiner in the NYC area. The topic area I chose is one that I’m already writing about (pets) and isn’t taken yet: Westchester Pets. I’m thrilled to report that I was accepted!
My first article is already up and I’d love for you to visit it and subscribe (it’s near the top.) Here’s the link to the article. More will follow soon (I’m on deadline for two projects already and need to focus on them first.)
What’s cool about this is two things:
- I can write about cats and apply for membership to Cat Writers Association (CWA) which I’ve been wanting to do.
- I can change my DWAA membership to professional status — and become a voting member at last (that is another good thing.)
The other cool thing is that it’s another way to reach people with important messages about how to take better care of their animal companions, and to get news out when there are emergencies. I’m looking forward to this!
