There’s a gap I’ve watched people fall into for years.
It’s the space between what I can do for someone in a session — and what they can do for themselves at 11pm on a Tuesday, when the thing is right in front of them and I’m not in the room.
I can help you find your truth, draw a boundary, see a choice clearly. But then you go home, and life keeps happening in the exact moments I’m not there for. That gap is where good intentions quietly dissolve.
These tools are my attempt to build a bridge across it. They meet you there — in the moment you’re actually in — and help you do the thing you already know how to do, when it counts.
And yes — I’m aware this is a little out of my lane.
A quick, honest word about how these came to be.
You may know me as #notageek. It’s not false modesty — I’m the one who calls the webmaster when a link turns funny colors.
So here’s the truth of it: a friend who very much is a geek — a good one — handed me a tool and nudged me to see what apps could actually do for people. I went in curious and a little skeptical. What I found was a playground. And to my genuine surprise, I loved it — more than I expected — and it turns out I’m not half bad at it.
I could have decided this wasn’t my place. Instead I chose to harness what these tools can do, in service of something I care about far more than staying in my lane: how genuinely well they can help you with the exact things I built them to do. That felt worth stepping outside my comfort zone for.
So that’s what these are. Made with care, tested honestly, and offered in the same spirit as everything else I do.
🔧 A founding beta is open — for a brief window.
From August 21 through September 26, 2026, every tool is available at founding prices, in exchange for one thing: that you use them and tell me the truth about what works and what doesn’t. Your feedback is how these become their best. On September 27, regular pricing begins. More on how the beta works at the bottom of this page — but I wanted you to know right away, so you didn’t miss it.
And there’s a FREE one. Want to try before you decide? The Cost Of A Wrong Choice is yours free — a real tool from the collection, no strings. It’s the doorway; come see what these are like from the inside.

- How the founding beta works
(Skip to whatever you need. Nothing here has to be read in order — which, as you’ll see, is rather the point of the whole thing.)
A word about the prices:
A lot of tools like these run $25–30 a month — that’s over $300 a year, every year, as long as you keep them. Mine don’t work that way. You pay once, and the tool is yours to use as long as you like. No subscription, no meter running. (That’s my choice for now — I reserve the right to rethink it later, but right now, this is how it goes.)
A word about the one that matters most to me.
For more than a decade, I’ve had my eye on something missing.
We are carrying an enormous, collective grief — global, constant, and mostly unspoken. The losses we witness pile up faster than we can metabolize them, and as a culture we’ve gone quiet about it. We aren’t talking about it, let alone finding ways to tend it. And I’ve come to believe, deeply, that the world cannot heal until we do.
This has kept me up at night. I’ve talked it over with colleagues who feel it too, each of us reaching for it in our own way. But it’s so big that no one I know has found an effective place to begin.
I think I just found one.
It’s called The Tending Room.

The Tending Room
A practice for what we witness.
We carry more than we name ~ maybe more than we’re ABLE to name. Not only our own losses, but the weight of what we witness: the news that stops us cold, the tragedies that were never quite “ours” to grieve, so we never set them down. It accumulates. It sits under everything, and no amount of getting-things-done can reach it.
The Tending Room is a quiet, private, held space to meet what you’ve absorbed — and begin to set it down. It walks beside you at your own pace, on your own ground, as much or as little as is yours to give on any given day.
All of these tools help you live well. This one is about being whole enough to have a life worth living well.
That’s why it comes first. The more of this deeper work is underway, the more clearly and easily everything else flows. The Tending Room doesn’t stand above the other tools — it gives them their reason.

Then — the tools for living it well.
Once the deeper ground is tended, the day-to-day work of an honest life flows more easily. These are the tools for that work.
Every one of them stands on its own. Each is a complete tool that does its own job — you never need the others for one to work. They’re grouped below into five collections by the ache they meet, so you can find what fits. Start wherever the heat is. The rest will be here when you want them.
Single tools are $9 founding · $17 each after the founding window.
👁 See Clearly — Where Am I Actually?
When you can’t get an honest read on your own situation.
Three tools to show you where you actually stand, so you can decide from truth instead of fog.

- Living in the Gap — find the widest gap between the life you’re living and the one that’s true for you.
- Beliefs: Yours or Handed To You? — sort what you actually believe from what you inherited without choosing it.
- The Capacity Calculator — see how much of your capacity is already committed, and what’s left before you run dry.
Start with the free one. The Cost Of A Wrong Choice — which counts what a decision is really costing you, in more than money — is the free doorway into this collection. Try it first; then these three take that same clear-eyed honesty and turn it on the rest of your situation. (You need to enter your email address so we can send you the link to the free app.)

- The Living Truth Generator — put words to what’s true for you, and claim it as a declaration you can stand on.
- The Aligned Boundary Generator — turn a felt “no” into a clear boundary, in words you can actually say.

🧭 Clear the Way — Unsticking Yourself
For the five ways a life quietly gets stuck.
![]()
Five planners, one for each way you get stuck — same clear method, aimed at a different snag:
- The Obligated Life — when you’re carrying what isn’t yours.
- The Silenced Voice — when you know your truth but haven’t spoken or acted on it.
- Living for the Looking — when you’re living from how it looks.
- The Drifted Life — when you’ve been carried away from what matters.
- The Disconnected Spirit — when you’re functioning but cut off from meaning.
The collection: $29 founding · $67 after the founding window — a better deal than buying the five on their own. Clear the Way →
Ways to get them — your choice, no wrong answer.
Here’s the part I want to be plain about, because I’d rather you get what actually serves you:
One tool at a time. Every app is complete on its own. If one of them is exactly what you need, get that one. $9 founding · $17 after the founding window.
A collection. If a whole ache is live for you, the matching collection gathers its tools together — and, in most cases, for less than buying them one by one.
The Complete Suite. Every tool, all five collections, plus The Tending Room — the whole path, in one place, walked your own way with no prescribed order.
Bought one at a time, the whole library runs $180 during the founding window — and more than $300 at regular prices. The Complete Suite is $79 now — the whole library in one place (or $279 after the founding window, still a considerable savings over buying each tool separately.) And the twentieth tool, The Cost Of A Wrong Choice, is free either way.
$79 founding · $279 after the founding window · The Complete Suite →

Or — honestly — just start with two.
If you want the simplest way in, you could begin with The Living Truth Generator and The Tending Room alone. Between them — one to help you claim what’s true, one to help you set down what you carry — they’re robust enough to take you as far as you want to go. Add the others if and when you want support for the other ways these tools can help. No need to buy the library to begin the work.
How the founding beta works
From August 21 through September 26, everything is at founding prices. In exchange, I’m asking founding users to do one thing: actually use the tools, and tell me the truth about them — what helped, what fell flat, what you’d change. That feedback is how these get better, and it’s the whole reason the founding window exists.
You get the founding price for two honest reasons: you’re early, and these are still new enough that your hands and your feedback genuinely shape what they become. After September 26 regular pricing begins. That’s a real date on a real calendar — not a countdown gimmick.
(I’ll share more about the feedback itself — and a thank-you for those who send it — in the days ahead.)
Your Privacy & How These Tools Work
These apps were built to be useful — and nothing else. Here’s what that means in plain language:
They won’t install anything on your device. These are browser-based tools. They run entirely in your browser window and cannot touch your device, your files, or anything beyond the screen you’re looking at.
They do exactly what they say they do. No hidden functions, no background processes, no surprises. What’s described is what’s there.
Your information is never shared with me. I don’t receive, collect, or see what you enter into these tools. Your responses belong to you.
A note on AI-powered tools: Some of these apps use AI to generate your personalized results. Your input is processed securely through Anthropic (the company behind Claude) — it never comes to me, and it isn’t used for advertising or shared with anyone. Anthropic’s privacy policy →
These are self-guided reflective tools, not therapy or a substitute for professional care. I’m a coach and consciousness practitioner, not a therapist — and I’m always glad to point you toward the right support when something calls for more than a self-guided tool can hold.
These tools will soon live in the Soul Mechanic’s Garage, where new ones will join them as they emerge. Now that I know how to make them, we’ll see what else wants to come through.
