You know that old joke that goes along the lines of “with all this manure in here, there has to be a pony around somewhere”?
Don’t know about you, but it sure seems to me that there is an awful lot of the stinky stuff around the world these days. When what you’re trying to do is to avoid the smell, it’s challenging to remember these things:
- There might be a pony in here somewhere. After all, the brown stuff didn’t just “happen” (despite bumper stickers that claim it’s so.)
- Fertilizer is good. Just ask any gardener.
- Everything has a purpose and the Universe likes balance. Somewhere there is a rose.
If you can only remember one simple thing when the brown stuff starts hitting the fan, try to remember this:
No matter how bad it smells, it won’t last and it’s not the end of the world; there is probably something good and useful that can come of it, it you’re willing to go beyond appearances.
Trying to see the positive side of something doesn’t make you a Pollyanna; it makes you pragmatic.
What do you think about this? How far will YOU go, to try and find “the pony”?
